Op. Dr. İnanç ÇAĞIRAN was born on March 24, 1977 in İzmir, and completed his primary, secondary and high school education at İzmir Hakimiyet-i Milliye Primary School, American Collegiate Institute (ACI) and İzmir Science High School (IFL) respectively.

He started his education in medicine in 1995 at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine which was (and still is) the best and 1^st ranked Faculty of Medicine among all the universities in Turkey according to the admission score in Turkish University Admission Exam.

In 2000, before his internship period (the final year of education and practice in medicine), he made observations in Sheffield Kidney Institute, Northern General Hospital.

After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2001; in order to be able to work with Prof. Dr. Nurcan Özdamar (whom is the one of the best neurosurgeons in Turkey by that time); he attained his first and only preferential right correspondingly his success in Turkish Medical Specialization Examination (TUS) and started his specialty training in the Department of Neurosurgery at Ege University Faculty of Medicine on October 23, 2001.

During his Brain and Nerve Surgery residency, in 2008, he was sent to Ankara and Vienna in turn, with the decisions of the academic committee, in order to receive training in the fields of Functional Neurosurgery & Pain Surgery. Depending on this, he had the opportunity to work with Prof. Dr. Yücel Kanpolat (Head of Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and Head of Neurosurgery Department Ankara University Faculty of Medicine) and O.Univ.Prof.DDr. Hans-Georg Kress (Head of European Pain Federation (EFIC) and Head of Department of Special Anesthesia and Pain Management, University Hospital Vienna (Allgemeines Krankenhaus der Stadt Wien)).

While receiving the title of Neurosurgery Specialist in 2009, he simultaneously started his doctorate in anatomy at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy.

He started his compulsory service in 2010, and according to the official records of the Turkish Ministry of Health and Social Security Institution, in July 2011, he ranked in 2nd position as a Brain and Nerve Surgery Specialist according to the quantity of operations and interventions had been performed among all the public hospitals in Turkey. After completing his compulsory service obligation in İzmir Aliağa State Hospital in 2012, he resigned from his duty due to the full-time law (which forbids doctors to work simultaneously in puclic hospitals  and private hospitals or doctor offices) and started to practice his profession in his private office and various private hospitals in İzmir. In 2016, he worked as an observer at Houston Methodist Hospital. Then, he continued to perform spinal, neurological and functional surgeries until 2020, as a member of surgical team with Prof. Dr. Tayfun Dalbastı and Prof. Dr. Sedat Çağlı whom are academic members of Department of Neurosurgery, Ege University Faculty of Medicine. Today,he still serves his patients with private practice in Izmir.

Dr. İnanç ÇAĞIRAN (46) is married to Zeynep ÇAĞIRAN (44, M.D., Specialist in Anesthesiology and Reanimation), and has 2 sons: Ahmet (14) and Alex Can Mars (7).
